The hike to Skarsteinsætra starts from the centre of Olden. Follow the municipal road to Fagerli, then continue along a forest road up to the summer farm. The walk takes around 30–40 minutes and follows a mix of forest road and well-maintained paths. Parts of the route are suitable for prams.

At Skarsteinsætra, you’ll be rewarded with beautiful views over the fjord and towards Loen and Rake
