High on glaciers - long live the Queen of Western Norway!
The first leg of the tour takes you from the Bødal mountain dairy and into "Fessene". The path goes up between two waterfalls, and gives a foretaste of the next climb. When you reach "Fessene" you have about 30 minutes flat walk before the real challenge of the trip appears: "Brattebakken" (Steep hill). This hill takes you 700 meters up in one stretch, and is not called a steep hill without reason. As you reach the top of this hill you see Lodalskåpa rises high and mighty. This view gives the majority a new motivation to continue on. From here, you go over the snow-covered glaciers and glacier equipment is necessary. After "Bohrsbreen"(the glacier) is crossed continue the journey up the hill at "the steel vessel". The glacier takes us further up towards the top. After the glacier it is a bit of walking in rock scree before going back into a small glacier just before the top. To reach the peak, it is necessary with some easy climbing. If necessary we set up a rope for the climbing. Normal time for this trip is between 10-12 hours. The trip has a total length of about 21 km, with steep climbs, good physical fitness is required.
We reccommend to use a guide on this trip.
