Myklebust Farm

Myklebust Farm in Nordfjordeid is a visitor farm with a truly unique history – this is the very place where the Myklebust ship, the world’s largest Viking ship, was discovered.

Here, you can learn about the powerful chieftain who grew up here, meet animals such as alpacas, horses, goats, and rabbits, and enjoy homemade food in the café. A rare encounter between Viking history and living farm life – in the heart of Nordfjord.

Are you looking for something to do in Nordfjordeid? Myklebust Farm combines two experiences you rarely find in one place: one of Norway’s most important Viking historical sites and a living visitor farm with animals.

This is where the Myklebust ship was discovered – the world’s largest Viking ship, burned as part of the funeral of King Audbjørn over a thousand years ago. At the farm, you can learn more about the former Viking settlement, experience authentic burial mounds, and watch a film about the history that unfolded here.

Myklebust Farm is also a living farm where you can meet animals such as alpacas, horses, goats, rabbits, dogs, and cats in calm and safe surroundings. Everyone is welcome, regardless of age. For children, there are play areas and activities, and the café is open with light refreshments.
