Kalvåg
Do you like a great atmosphere, good food and salty coastal culture?
Kalvåg is one of the best-preserved fishing villages in Western Norway. The fishing village lies right out on the edge of the open sea on the island of Frøya in Bremanger, and it’s the place you go when you want to experience salty coastal culture, great food and an atmosphere that’s hard to put into words. Not far from the fishing village is the storm cabin Dosabu, which is a popular hiking destination for both locals and visitors.
Kalvåg is a large, living hotel
Within walking distance around the small bay you’ll find Knutholmen – fishermen’s cabins, rooms and apartments, a restaurant, pub and meeting rooms, all brought together in a lively and distinctive hotel. The Fosse family has preserved the old seaside style of living, and here you can feel the maritime history in the walls. The restaurant serves food from the sea around you, and outside an aquarium awaits, filled with fish and shellfish from the area.
Sjøholt by Knutholmen
In the soulful sea boathouse from 1860, you can stay in beautiful and intimate rooms, each furnished after local historical figures. Sjøholt by Knutholmen is a cultural experience in itself – with high comfort, unique interior design and sea views that make it easy to settle in.
Kok og Bad
From the floating sauna Kok og Bad you can enjoy the sight of islets, charming rorbuer and small fishing boats. Take a refreshing dip in the sea followed by steam in the warm sauna, which is located right by the quay.
