From Trollenykjen, there are stunning views of the centre of Nordfjordeid, the fjord and inland towards Hornindalsvatnet lake. From the top, you can see Eidsdalen valley, the Sagetindane mountains, Hornindalsvatnet lake, Anda, Lote and Hyen.

Start about 100 metres from Skipenesbrua bridge along a tractor road over cultivated land. The path is good, the route is well marked, and the trail/path is easy to follow.

Be sure to turn off towards Skipenessetra pasture farm when the path branches off (follow the signs to Skipenessetra). It takes about an hour to get to Skipenessetra, and about an hour from there to Trollenykjen. You can also do this hike in winter on snowshoes.

There may still be some snow after you pass Skipenessetra
