In the village of Ålfoten in Bremanger, you'll find a small white log church, likely built around 1610. This makes it the oldest wooden church in Nordfjord and the oldest church in Bremanger municipality. The church is situated nicely surrounded by old stone walls. Few churches in the area remain as untouched as this one. Among its historical furnishings, you'll find an altar painting from the early 1600s and a church bell dating back to the Middle Ages.
The church is still in regular use and was restored several years ago in collaboration with the Directorate for Cultural Heritage. You can freely visit the church and walk around the outside. If you want to go inside we recommend checking opening hours or service times in advance.
