Roundtrip Stryn - Loen - Stryn | Travel Like the Locals
Stryn - Loen Stryn.
This tour takes you from Fagre Stryn to the beautiful village of Loen and Lodalen. The beautiful and powerful nature almost makes you speechless.
It is advisable to take the early bus, as you will need some time to see and do everything Loen has to offer.
When you arrive in Loen, you can find Loen Skylift on your right hand. Loen Skylift is a spectacular attraction and adventure arena. One of the steepest gondolas in the world takes you from the fjord to 1011 meters above sea level. It takes 5 minutes to the top and it is a wonderful experience for both young and adults.
If you are ready for a bigger challenge, you can choose to climb Via Ferrata up to the mountain. This is a climbing route that takes about 5 hours, depending on how good shape you are in. At the top you can enjoy a good meal and a majestic view.
Well down in Loen again, you can rent bicycles at Loen Activ. Finish your trip in Loen with a lovely bike ride to Lodalen. The bike ride to Lodalen between the high mountains and the ice blue water is something that must be experienced. Maybe its even tempting with a bath in the cold glacierwater? If you don’t wane go for a swin, it is possible to rent canoe and kayak with most of the campings.
In Loen you will also find the mountain Skåla. This is a spectacular hike with views of fjords, mountains and glaciers. Nowhere else in Norway will you find a bigger difference in altitude from fjord to summit. Walking here on the old stone-paved paths and stone steps, with fantastic fjord landscapes as far as the eye can see, is a true cultural experience.
This trip is suitable for normally well-trained people and you can count approximately 8 hours from fjord to mountain and back again.
When you are back in Stryn, full of new experiences and impressions, sit down at a café and enjoy a good meal while you look at your new pictures and the bustling life in the streets.

About our trips
This is a “Travel like the locals” tour. The tours use public transport, i.e. regular buses, ferries and boats, but we have done the planning for you so that you can concentrate on enjoying your trip. You travel on your own - there is no guide or tour leader. On most of our tours you must change several times between different buses/ferries/boats, and it is up to you to make sure you catch your connections – truly travelling like a local! (The tours are set up so that the buses, ferries and boats connect.)
Trips are not available for booking on public holidays and during holiday periods such as Easter and Christmas due to deviations in the timetables. The timetable shown is valid for the periods when the trip is bookable.
